A symposium celebrating the 150-year anniversary of Helmholtz’s seminal paper on vortex dynamics. Contributions on all aspects of vorticity and vortex dynamics, retrospective as well as current research, are hereby invited. The Symposium will feature keynote lectures, invited lectures, and shorter presentations and posters.
Proceedings will be published by Springer in the IUTAM symposium series and as a special issue of Theoretical and Computational Fluid Dynamics.

The IUTAM symposium was held at:

Technical University of Denmark
October 12-16, 2008
Anticipated attendance is approximately 100 persons. The early bird registration deadline has now passed. Registration is DKK 3,500 per person. Students may register for a reduced rate of DKK 2,500. All technical sessions will take place on the campus of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in Lyngby, just north of Copenhagen. Refreshments and lunches will be available at this venue. Lodging and social events will take place in Copenhagen City Centre.
